I found my dream pattern! The new issue of Knitty featured a pattern, Incognito, that may have made my fingerstashe tattoo unnecessary. Within a few days of being published I had knit myself a mustache cowl out of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and I couldn't be happier! See?
