Spinning all the Fiber in the World

OK, I'm spinning way to fast to post! Even with a week without fiber (waiting for more to come in the mail) Here's the latest:

"Carnival Fluff n' Stuff" spun from a Sweet Pea Fibers batt and add ins:

"Geraniums", hand dyed mill ends with handmade puffy flowers:

"Persephone"- batts from KC Knits that I bought on Phat Fiber that I corespun around cotton crochet thread.

And "Bon Bons"- and batt from Frene Creek Farm and felt balls that I got from Blooming Felt in my January Phat Fiber box. The bottom photo shows how I added the balls to the yarn. I threaded the roving with a sharp tapestry needle.

Fair Isles and other Knitting

For some reason I've done quite a bit of fair isles knitting lately! I knit 2 hats for my husband's coworkers:

And Brian's birthday mittens (only a week late):

Then there are the hats:

Handspun yarn by AtomHEART:

Handspun yarn by me, mixed with Paton's Brilliant (and some brilliant, but short lived hair):

Last but not least, at least for today, it my new pattern "Bocca Baciata" available exclusively at the Phat Fiber Etsy Shop

I think that catches everyone up on my latest knitting projects...

Ladybug Garden

One of my latest spins. I named it Ladybug Garden, appropriately I think, and I used a batt from Sweet Pea Fibers. Adding the flowers was such a pain! But I think it was worth it in the end...

Wanna flash me for a peek at some Mardi Gras yarn?

I spun this yarn for the Spindlers (Ravelry Group) February Spin-A-Long and the theme was Mardi Gras (if you didn't get that from the blog entry title).

I started with a batt I got from Frene Creek Farm, a blend of wool, angelina, and bamboo. I spun it (adding in extra angelina as I spun) and then plied it with a sequined yarn. The pics really don't show how sparkly they yarn turned out...

My inspiration:

New Beginnings....

Today is the day that marks the day exactly half way from Winter to Spring. It is a time to start preparing for the new agricultural year (little sprouts) and to clean out all the unwanted to make room for new (Spring Cleaning). With that said, how appropriate was it that I hear back from two online knitting publications TODAY that:

I'm getting published! How's that for new beginnings?! Where you ask? I'm not telling! It's going to be a surprise! Whoo hoo! I'm so excited!!

Ok, back to cleaning...
