Fair Isles and other Knitting

For some reason I've done quite a bit of fair isles knitting lately! I knit 2 hats for my husband's coworkers:

Phat Fiber is a fun fiber surprise- and if you don't get in on the action you are totally missing out on something great! To get an idea of what comes in the box you can get a sneak peak at the Phat Fiber Blog- and some of you may be fortunate enough to get yarn or a pattern from me in your box!

Ladybug Garden

One of my latest spins. I named it Ladybug Garden, appropriately I think, and I used a batt from Sweet Pea Fibers. Adding the flowers was such a pain! But I think it was worth it in the end...

Wanna flash me for a peek at some Mardi Gras yarn?

I spun this yarn for the Spindlers (Ravelry Group) February Spin-A-Long and the theme was Mardi Gras (if you didn't get that from the blog entry title).

I started with a batt I got from Frene Creek Farm, a blend of wool, angelina, and bamboo. I spun it (adding in extra angelina as I spun) and then plied it with a sequined yarn. The pics really don't show how sparkly they yarn turned out...

My inspiration:

New Beginnings....

Today is the day that marks the day exactly half way from Winter to Spring. It is a time to start preparing for the new agricultural year (little sprouts) and to clean out all the unwanted to make room for new (Spring Cleaning). With that said, how appropriate was it that I hear back from two online knitting publications TODAY that:

I'm getting published! How's that for new beginnings?! Where you ask? I'm not telling! It's going to be a surprise! Whoo hoo! I'm so excited!!

Ok, back to cleaning...
