Wanna flash me for a peek at some Mardi Gras yarn?

I spun this yarn for the Spindlers (Ravelry Group) February Spin-A-Long and the theme was Mardi Gras (if you didn't get that from the blog entry title).

I started with a batt I got from Frene Creek Farm, a blend of wool, angelina, and bamboo. I spun it (adding in extra angelina as I spun) and then plied it with a sequined yarn. The pics really don't show how sparkly they yarn turned out...

My inspiration:

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our society, and I think it is safe to say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory drops, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about almost every day.

Digital Memory sure is becoming cheaper these days. I wonder when we will eventually reach the rate of $0.01 to 1 Gig.

I eagerly wait for the day when I will finally be able to afford a 20 TB hard disk, hahaha. But for now I guess I will be satisfied with having a 16 GB Micro SD Card in my R4i.

Interesting post... Looks like solid-state memory is finally beginning to become more popular. Hopefully we'll start seeing decreasing solid-state drive prices in the near future. Five dollar 32 GB Micro SDs for your Nintendo DS flash card... imagine that!
